Pre-Work Shift Exercise Routine

Traditional athletes, like basketball, football and soccer players, all warm up and stretch out before they start a game.  Warming up before athletic activity helps prevent athletes from suffering muscle strains and it gets their bodies ready to meet the rigorous demand of athletic competition.  Today’s “Occupational Athletes” need to adopt this same sports medicine principle.  Before starting your work day, take a few minutes to stretch out your muscles and get your body warmed up so it can meet the functional demands of your job.  Performing simple stretching and warm-up exercises before you start your work day is an easy and effective way to reduce your risk of developing work-related injuries.
